Dread pwns me!
9th November 2005
Once again I turn to you people to help me out 'cos usually you do a damn good job. I did google both things but for once, google turned me down... I might've been looking in the wrong place tho.
So. My hard drive died. Sorta. I've had no hiccups, no nothing with it, but one day the BIOS started hanging for about a minute or more, trying to detect the drive. It then moved on but the drive doesn't show up, not in the bios, not in Windows (obviously). It spins up just fine, and I'm certain there is some sort of connection to it since the bios finds something but won't accept it. It's a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500Gbytes drive, about 1.5 years old. The problem is not my computer, already tried it in another one. I realize drives just die sometimes, I'm just not one to let it go without a fight.
Then there's my keyboard. Sometimes when I'm writing, the keys start to stick. Not a particular key, just the one I happened to be pressing when it started acting up. It repeats for a few lines, then stops. Sometimes the keyboard then completely stops responding to input for a few seconds. That's a lot of "sometimes", I know. It's just so random what it does. It's a Logitech Dinovo edge wireless keyboard. I tried turning it off while one of the letters were stuck, to no avail. I have a suspicion that it's somehow software related, but I'm not sure. Haven't been able to narrow down the culprit.
Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
