I didn't make it!
I saw on pricewatch.com that there are sites selling a 512mb version of the 6800 ULTRA! The lowest price was about $850, but it has to make you wonder... sure would be nice to see a benchmark.
Crap, I've got a regular 6800, 256 Mb, and then they go and release this monster...

heh, 850$ looks like quite a bit of money to me :) I too have a Regular 6800 256 MB and when i first got it, i thought it was the best in the world. Now this 512 MB version will probably make the newest games in the next year run AMAZING. gonna be sweet ...

Video memory barely makes any diffrence at all. Unless your doing some really power demanding video editing. You wont notice any diffrence between a 512 card and a 128 card. They just make these because people like to see big numbers for things that they don't understand.
Exactly, bigger numbers are better in my book. :D It's just good to be ahead of the times, so you don't have to be worrying about upgrading for a long time. Yes, 512 may be excessive now, but in 5 years? 10?

in 5 years we will have 2gb cards and in 10 we will 8gb at least. BFG is the only one making em now, but once other companies make them they will be in the $500 range to compete with the x850.
I would die without GF

No question that the 512mb 6800 Ultra is powerhouse of a graphics card. All games previously released and many yet to be will be playable on the highest visual settings all around. :smokin:
Revenge was here.

The new unreal engine already recommends a gig of video memory to run the game at its highest settings. So in response to what M2K4 said, thats not true.

Thank God I went with the Gig then, instead of just 512, like the guy helping me pick stuff for my computer reccomended.
