Plus, wouldn't it be prudent to wait for the other shoe to drop? ATI surely has something sweet coming, and it will no doubt help those Nvidia prices drop to a level where you won't feel like you just got gang-raped.
The resualts for the 8800GTX ovcer the ATI X1950XTX vary from 30% faster to 98% faster in reviews. Its mostly dependet on whats its tested on though. SO take the resualts with a pinch of salt. As i say, wait for ATI be out 1 month, Then wait a month to see who the top dog is before buying. What im doing, Pay fdor it now, lose £250/£200 in 2-3 months on it. Just wait
Just because its DX-10 and nothings out for it is not a reason not to get one. It will wipe the floor with DX-9 games.
I dont believe QW is DX-10 either, Only games DX-10 coming up is Crysis which ilkl be avoiiding as its an EA game, And Alan Wake. Not sure on Unreal'07 but not a fan of the series anyway.
2 games im waiting for OFP:AA + Stalker are both DX-9, so no rush for me :)
