The 8800GT is now avalaible to buy on Newegg, it comes in at roughly the same price of a GTS, $260-$290 depending on vendor. Crysis,UT3, World in Conflict and other game benchmarks for the 8800GT here. Whats amazing is its only 2-4 FPS off on being on par with a GTX in some cases, the Crysis benchmark is especially impressive. I pretty sure they designed the 8800GT with Crysis in mind..
yikes...do i get the GTX still or should I get the GT? btw this will be for DX10 on vista and the review on tomshardware said somethin about lower performance in DX10 on the GT but I still dont know...
This looks like a great card that is almost identical to the performance of the GTX judging by them benchmarks. I was going to go with the GTX but now I think i'll save some money and go with the equally as good GT...
That sucks.. In my part that is.. I bought the 8800GTS 640MB at almost the same price as the GT and it is even better as well.. Kinda lame in my opinion.
Though seems like it's noisier and warmer than the 8800GTS. MSI GeForce NX8800GT 512MB Graphics Card :: TweakTown

With the price of GTX you get 2x8800GT and SLI them

It's always that way with PC hardware. That's why you should never look back. ;)

Yeah, I think that's the best thing about the GT.
I might get one, what PSU will I need?
I still say the 9800GTX will be the way to go with 1920x1200 being such a popular res for multipurpose use. I'm sure two 8800GTs in SLI could handle that res but I much prefer a simple single card solution. Besides 2x 512MB doesn't really add up to 1024 in games. It's kinda wierd they did that test with a 4:3 monitor. I thought Tom's was up on things.
