So I bought a EVGA 8800GTS today got it in the mail : ) super happy. Anyway, I do see massive improvements in my games especially since now I have 16xAA and I get 120fps in Portal. Any whoo, my core clock is what it's at (looking at the clocks in ntune) but my Memory bus isn't. It says 850mhz, but the product advertises at 1700(effective).
Anything wrong here?
Update, I'm getting 60fps in bf2. What is up? I think it might be the power.
mmh, whats your psu?
600watt APEVIA. The gcard came with 2 things of 3 female prong connectors to connect into. I have , In my computer 4 prong connectors. What is up?
I found a 6 prong connector tucked away, it looks like it leads to the PSU. I plugged it into the GPU and I'm going to see how everything runs.
Its dual memory. What does 850 & 850 add up to?

Uhm...is there something wrong with playing a game at 60fps?

I was getting 60fps with a 7600GT.
Thanks though guys, everything is good.
*EDIT*I got a bout 7k 3dmark06 score, that doesn't sound too good. A-lot more people have a better score than me with the same video card. Power is plugged in, system is running fine. What's up?
If your games are running and playing fine and you've said yourself you've seen a big difference then why try to fix it? Ever heard if it aint broke don't fix it? And the BF2 is a pretty old game and not very demanding..I get 40-60FPS as well with a X800XT. And your FPS probably isn't going above 60 because you have V-sync turned on and your moniter's refresh rate is set a 60 Hertz.

No. Its clocked exactly at what its supposed to be. Its DDR memory so, take the actual frequency (850Mhz) and mutiply it by 2 to get your DDR speed. So, 850x2 = 1700Mhz Effective. Just what you say it should be.
