So I got the X1950XTX in cross fire, and I want a 8800GTX. I am guessing moust of you would say its just stupid to buy a 8800GTX then. Well I kinda want to be ready for DX10 and crysis. So howe stupid is it to buy a 8800GTX, in my case?
It's outright bloody ridiculous.
That much huh?
BS|ArchaonIt's outright bloody ridiculous.
Pretty much, yeah.
You've got a great PC already, just keep it and wait for ATI to release their DX10 cards and for more to be made so they drop in price. I remember the 7800s being about $500 on Newegg when they were new, and now you can get the 7900 GT for $250.

Nice PC...Jebus. :|
And 15...lucky kid.
I didn't make it!
Stick with the 1950 mate. Its future proof enough, You won't notice a difference. Its a waste of money. Its a great card, but if you already have the leading competitor, Whats the point? both will run pretty much all games for the next year on max settings.
Alright I guess I sorted that out. Maybe water cooling and a new case then. Thanks anyway. Oh and AegenemmnoN I worked my ass of for the pc. Just wanted to note that so you dont think im a spoilled dady boy.
Hell, your PC will be good for a long time with games. Don't bother upgrading to DX10 till ATI's cards are out and that prices fall considerably, even then your 1950's should still be quite capable.
I have to agree with the status quo here; upgrading would be kinda pointless, but if your intent on it. wate to see what the new ATI/AMD cards will be like... apprently they are suspose to rape the 8800GTX's
