just bought a sapphire 9600 pro and its playing up...after about five mins of gaming it flickers and then square blotches of different colors appear...i ran driver cleaner,turned off vpu, and i thought that it had fixed it but after an hour it happened again but not as bad...any ideas on what i should do next??:mad:

next you should tell us if this happens with all games you play or just the one.

and maybe check to see how hot the card is running.

i only play mohaa and i dont know how to find out if the card is running hot,the tweak cd doesnt load but i do have 2 extra fans pointing straight at the card

i dont think it is overheating it may just be that game, try rolling back drivers or lower graphic setting in the game. and try playing other games to see if its just this game, or if the problem is with the card.

what is 3Dmark03 and what does it do??i dont think its the game as a mate as same card he as no problems,dont wanna turn the settings down,i bought it so i could wang the settings right up....not helping much am i

3dmark03 is a benchmarking utility.

and you have an ati card, are you using the oem drivers(drivers created by the company that built the card) or the catalyst ones(ati's drivers)? If not, install the catalyst drivers and reboot, if you are, reinstall the latest version.

It sounds like an opengl issue, since a card overheating would just lockup or crash to the desktop.

Reinstalling the drivers should fix it.

What 3Dmark does is play different videos with different amounts of polygons. The program measures all of you frames per second (fps) and results a final score at the end of the tests. The higher your score, the better your computer will run while playing games.

ive used the drivers that came on cd and after using driver cleaner used the newer ones that i downloaded and it was the same......i dont mind putting in older versions if that would help and if there are still available!
