Hi, I was wondering if anyone here knew of a free programming language that I can get my hands on? I want something that can make basic things and that is easier to learn for beginners. Know of any?

All programming languages are free, as such, as in that they are free to learn and program in...

And I know of one, called HTML. ;)

You could also try CSS or Java.

All sound like fine ideas.

But HTML isn't a language :p

Like they said, what kind of programing language are you looking for? Since they already mentioned those above, its not the worlds worst idea if you were interested in tinkering in games to learn C++ and download the quake 3 source code... That can be fun ;)

Oh yeah, sorry. I'm looking for things like C and C++ but easier to learn. And if I'm not mistaken C++ is not free?

languages are free.. the tools to create them most of the time cost money.

Anyway, a good learning language for beginners is pascal (or any variation) then move to C++. From there you'll have the basic knowledge to try something a bit more complicated. :)
