My current specs are as follows.

AMD athlon fx-57 XFX 7800 GTX 3GB Corsair RAM Asus A8N-SLI premium socket 939 Motherboard. Some Enermax 550 Watt power supply.

Now then...with the recent release of the Crysis demo and all and me wanting to play the retail game smoothly at somewhat high settings (ohh...flashbacks to Far Cry)- I think I need an upgrade. Currently I cannot quite manage medium settings with my current rig. My aim is at least high with some very high settings running smoothly perhaps. Now... I have gone an pre-ordered an 8800 GT here - BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail which should help the situation somewhat. But I have two questions to ask:

1. Is my current PSU good enough to take that card and everything else?

2. Is my current CPU limiting the power of the soon-to-be 8800 GT? will I need an Intel core duo cpu to take crank the settings to max in game?

Revenge was here.

Your PSU is enough for 8800GT and your CPU will not bottleneck the card too much
