sorry if i posted this in the wrong place but i didn't know where els. i was just wandering my sound card is really crap something like Realtek 97 or whatever which came with the computer when i bought it so i want to buy a new card which is quite good for gaming and also quite cheap.. i was looking at Creative Soundblaster Audigy SE 7.1 PCI Sound Card is that any good??:confused: coz i'm like total n00b in sound cards:D thank you for the answers:) and sorry again if i posted in wrong place:rolleyes:

actually mine's an exclamation mark on a grey box (fusion skin). n that's for bad posts, not things in the wrong place.

It's also for the wrong place. If something is wrong with a thread, be it that it's offensive, has no content, it's in the wrong forum or whatever, use the report button.

An Audigy SE will be better, but not a massive amount. The quality of onboard sound like your AC97 has really come along in recent years, and the Audigy SE is quite old. If you're having problems with poor quality sound, getting a nice set of speakers would probably be more effective.

But I suppose for the price of an Audigy SE nowadays, there isn't much that can compete with it.
