I was planning on registering on a site where I get paid when people purchase and download my models that I make in 3dsmax. They said the funds get transferred to a PayPal account I create. I've not made on yet, though.

What are some of the hazards of PayPal? Why does it have a bad image? Is it safe?

How does it work? I have a bank account and the PayPal account...are they the same or what?

Thanks.

I've never had an issue with it either. I don't use it much, but I find it very useful, even for myself (17yo) when buying stuff online.

As long as you don't give out your password, you'll be fine.

Might also be a good idea to run some malware/spyware/virus scans on your PC, as there are a lot of trojans and malware that can steal passwords. Also, upgrading to Mozilla Firefox browser if you haven't already would be a wise choice.

Yeah, paypal's a cinch. Your bank account abnd paypal accounts are seperate, but you can link them to have the money automatically transfer to and from the other when you spend or make money.

Ok. So say I want money to go INTO the paypal account but not into my bank account. If I want to cash that money, how would I do that?

You can only get hard money by transferring it to your bank account, otherwise you'll just have to spend it at places like eBay. First of all however, you need to activate your bank account with PayPal before you can transfer anything. You could however transfer any funds to a friend or family member's PayPal so they can then transfer it to their bank account and withdraw it for you.

I have never had a problem using PayPal, but i've only made about 10 transactions with it. Its completely safe. You can transfer money from ur bank to ur account with ease, and vice versa.

So I'd have to talk to my bank that I do business with if I wanted to have them connected?

Nope. When you transfer money from PayPal to your bank account, PayPal sends money to your bank just as your payslip would get put straight into your bank. It appears on your bank statement as 'PayPal Transaction' and it gives you a transaction ID.
