One con would be the brand. This isn't exactly your top notch manufacturer.

i realize that . im on kind of a budget .. $400.00 to $500 canidian dollars .. the price seems right . acer seems to be a HALF DECENT brandname .. buying a monitor can be so confuseing . for sure . theres so many brandnames and styles to choose from .. then you have to know about tech stuff ,, like respones time , ratios etc .. being a new bee , im not that fimular .. some people like acer , some not . is the brandname your only con??? how about response time , etc .. would it be HALF DECENT gaming monitor .. thanks much for replying .. cheers .

brand in my opp with monitors is that bigger the brand name the more expensive i mean there are only a few companys that make monitors. And those few companys make monitors for other companys to sell with there name on it. I think its a fine monitor

The specs do look good. 5ms response time is great for a 22" (this number is imortant when looking for a good LCD for gaming). This one would probablly work for you if you are on a budget.

This site says that that is the best value they've seen yet.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116375 Widescreen lcd's are overrated, sure it is cool to have the game extended outwards, but you lose in contrast quality.

There's no point in getting a non-wide screen 19' monitor because you can't see anything more than with a 17' monitor. The max resolution on both is 1024x1280. But with a widescreen 19', the max resolution is higher.

Besides, I could never go back to standard 4:3 aspect ratio after using the widescreen on my notebook.
