Alright, I've searched the Apple website, and I'm not finding a straight answer to this question:

Do Macs need special RAM only provided by Apple, or can I just go to NewEgg and get the RAM I need for a Mac there?

My graphics instructor wants to add more ram to our G4's and G5's at school, and neither of us know if Mac ram is any different than a PC's ram.

Many Thanks

I don't know, but here's a shop specializing in Mac memory, so maybe they are different.

It should be the same as a PC, I think. what type of ram is being used? I'm almost positive the G5's should have DDR400 but i'm not sure what your G4's would have.

Go to the Newegg page for Mac Ram >here< and pick what you need, its probably alot cheaper than whatever Apple will charge you.
