well its been a year since i bought my Nvida BFG Geforce fx 5500 OC and i'm sick of it. i;m wondering... Will this video card work in my agp slot? AGP 2.0 4x P4 1.7 GHz 512MB PC133 Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102380 Thanks

Yes. It will work. However, If you have an AGP 4X slot, it is probably a waste of money to buy a $299 video card. Your graphics performance will be limited by the AGP interface, and not by the capabilities of the video card. Your better off upgrading to an AGP 8X or PCIe x16 mobo, buying new RAM (get rid of that PC133 and get some DDR400) and buying a cheaper graphics card such as an X700PRO or a 6600GT. Post some more system specs (brand, model name, anything...) and a budget and the people here will give you a few options, and hopefully help you narrow them down.

Something cheaper or more expensive? If you get a better video card than that, it will be very limited by the AGP interface. Your call though. The 6600GT is another option... they run about $150.

hmmm i just wanna see a bigger difference than my BFG Nvida 5500 OC will i get alot better fps with the 6800? say about 80-100fps with 1024x786res in hl2?

Hell yes. A simple yet effective response. You will get excellent fps with that video card/CPU combination. The next step up is a 6800GT, which will give you excellent performance in ANY game, but the card alont will cost you $275.
