LOL, somehow reading that I'm picturing you firing it up for the first time and saying,..."It's ALIVE!",...like in the original Frankenstein movie.

Not a bad starter gaming build, but the prices don't seem too good even for Canada, which is about $1.22 to our US dollar right now. Also, though Antec makes good cases, that one is a bit small, esp if you plan to eventually Crossfire with two of those 4850s. If you do get that case I would recommend adding the optional fans. Another thing that would help is putting a good aftermarket cooler on the CPU like the Xigmatek HDT-S1283, if you can get it up there. It's well priced, very quiet, and very thermally effective. Just make sure it fits that case, esp if you add the optional side fan.

He would have no problems with a xigmatek heatsink or any tower-type heatsinks. The prices on that stuff seem out of whack and he can get a much better deal at other e-tailers.

I figured it would fit without it, just wasn't sure with that side fan or not.[quote=kow_ciller;4799985]The prices on that stuff seem out of whack and he can get a much better deal at other e-tailers.

Yeah, that I knew, but couldn't think of the main vendors Canadians use that have good prices. Maybe some of our friends up north can chime in here.

:agreed Doc's suggestions have a quad-core, much better CPU cooler, better memory, and a better graphics card. Add a case and a HDD to that and the price won't me much more than what you have listed - for considerably higher performance.

Boxes are better than cases anyway. Dont have to worry about cutting yourself when you do your build.
