Ive been readin some about these systems.. But Iam no computer geek of any kind in any way lol... Which means I dont know shit just basics.. Does anyone know how they are?? Do you have one? Do you know anyone with one?? Whats a basic set up for one as in stock just the basics?? And what and how much can they be added to?? See I told ya I dont know Jack about this stuff and reading specs on a web site might as well be a foreign language to me. So Iam here just looking for some simple feed back from you kind folks... Thanks...
Alienware does not deal in Stock, or "Just the Basics". They target the computer enthusiast, who either wants the best, or knows something about computers.
They are a bit expesive, compared to do-it-yourself projects. Here is their current bargain system. http://www.alienware.com/Configurator_Pages/aurora_3500.aspx?SysCode=PC-AURORA-3500&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT
As you can see, there is a list of options for most parts, but no option to get just a base system.
As far as adding stuff,... Are you talking about on the site, or after the purchase? Alienware systems are very upgradeable, so you should have little trouble upgrading them after the fact.
However, if you need anything more than comes with an Alienware machine, then you would be better off building it yourself. You'll save money, and get exactly what you want.
Indeed they are very good but cost a LOT of MONEY. You could build one for around 1,000 cheaper they cost and be the same. But since you don't know how to build one and assuming you have the money their a good company and its worth getting one.
a lot of money, yes i agree, but if i had the money i would most certainly look into getting one. Only if i could get one of the best ones there.

they are like the Porshe of computers...top of the line, and you pay for the name....
what really makes them good is they have very good tech support, top of the line products, professionally put together, bunch of cool extra features...etc....
yah kickass looks, performance, the whole 9,but a LOT OF MONEY!!! lol with my crap comp im thinking of saving up for one..hehe
I have an Alienware computer, and lemme say for the money you get its not that great
Yes you have all the new gadgets and have alot of gaming power and performance, but In all honesty, I now wished I bought a different computer and up-graded it a couple of times
For one, the case is huge! Will get some pics later and it takes alot to clean it lol
If your thinking of buying one, be wise please!
Monster_userA They are a bit expensive
Understatement of the year. Alienwares are insanely expensive, but kinda worth it. I mean, I customised a City 17 on their site, selecting the most desirable features of the options, such as 3 monitor surround technology, excellent sound, software pack, etc etc.. and it came to over £9,000. So yeah.. a bit expensive.
Wowzors, did you actually buy that one or just cuztomizing for an idea of prices?
probably just getting an idea lol i have a crappy ME comp i think ill just get a gaming computer :D then upgrade its ram and memory like 4 times :P
