Actually, its 2x faster than agp 8x right now. I got it mixed up, as it's got 16 Gigabits memory bandwidth, and the graphics cards that are out for it now are quite good. Here's a link to some, and the second link is to the highest performance for the money PCI-E card. PCI-Express cards XFX GeForce 6600 256mb DDR3, at $160 That card offers so much more performance for about the same price as a regular 265mb AGP card.
im gettin a new mobo soon, but i cant get PCI-e because i still have an AGP graphics card and i wont be able to afford a new one with the mobo. im getting a AV8-3RD Eye socket 939 with an AMD Athlon 3500+ and 1GB of TWINX Corsair XMS PC3200 or PC4000 RAM (not decided between those yet)
I read that all PCI-E that is coming out right now will still support old adapters. You just have to buy a special jumper or something.
