Ive got this annoying problem, and I dont know the cause of it. Whenever I try to save pictures (from the internet, email, etc) itll only give me the option of saving it as a .bmp (unnamed) even if the picture itself is .jpg or .gif or whatever.. what could be the problem here? it bugs me out..

Does this happen all the time. I've seen it happen with IE a few times but logging out and back in solves it. If it hapens all the time, try switching browser. Firefox is excelent. I've never tried Opera but heard only good stuff about it. IE is ood, full of security holes and tbh, not worth using.

An answer that was well thought out. LOL Firefox sucks, have fun with it. (yes I have it and I still think it sucks)

Jack, I had the same issue a while ago and for some reson it started working again. Weird. Jack, Check your Temp Internet files ;) ( you could also rename it to .jpg after you saved it) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q260650

Saving as .jpg doesn't work. Any image editing software doesn't recognise it.

Back in the days before Mozilla was a self-named standalone browser, I used to encounter this problem when a picture did not correctly download (that is to say, you would see the image, but some part of the file--whether data or metadata--was missing). I don't know if that's what you're experiencing, or why it happens with everything, but that's one way it can occur.
