heh. Been awhile since I've debated this. I'll pass. ;)

Discernible or not, for gaming performance, I think all that matters is if it's a frame rate which satisfies you. I'm happy at an average of 30 FPS and above with no dips below 20. Though I'll admit I'm giddy at over 50 and nothing below 35.

On this new build, Crysis, maxed out on dx9 (1360x768) runs at about 25-30 FPS though I can imagine it dips well into the teens at times. I can back it off a bit and live with that kind of performance for awhile, so this semi-build has made me happy. It basically cuts right through every other game I've tried thus far without even breaking a sweat. Super PI and 3DMark scores have all dramatically improved. After 2 years on the ($$$) old build, for only ~$600, I'll take that kind of a step up.

Well, it's good to hear that all is wel. Though I'd like to point out, in your sig, your memory is listed as PC800, when in reality, it should be pc6400 or DDR2800. ;)

C38368;4082335But what does this have to do with the author's inability to get a simple historical fact correct? I'm just pointing out that he's shown to be quite fallable in the first paragraph.
So then, do you agree or disagree with the fact that the eye is capable of over 80 fps? Cause I could have interpreted your statement incorrectly. I've been known to do that a lot.

C38368;4082335 And tearing is something else entirely.
And my point on tearing was your statement about the perceptible quality of images over 80fps, in which the quality would only decrease due to the tearing of the image.
:Puzzled: v-sync anyone?

Depends on the game. But Yes.

Unless he actually did have PC800, in which case I would be amazed if he had roughly two thousand dollars to throw around like that. But that would be stupid to do.

Oops. Guess that's what you get when you're up too late hangin' out with Jose Cuervo.
