For some strange reason, whenever I try to rename a song in iTunes, it deletes itself from my iTunes library. Sure, I could go and put it back in, but trawling through hundreds of files on my computer to find one music file that should not have been removed from my library anyway is not the ideal way for me to spend my spare time. So can anybody suggest a solution?

I've never heard of that happening before. You can even leave the song name blank in iTunes and it will still keep and play the file. Are you using the latest version? (7.6).

There is a quick way to solve this problem. Get rid of Itunes and download WinAmp.

Itunes is a shitty program by the morons at Apple.

7.6.0.29.

Hang on, it only happens if I press Ctrl+Del when renaming it. I thought that was to delete everything in the name from the cursor to the end?

I don't do it like that. Try simply clicking the song you want to edit, and then clicking the name of the song. It'll let you edit the name there without removing anything.
