There isn't one "best" antivirus program. You will get a lot of differing opinions from the people of this forum. Lots of people will recommend AVG. It is free, and, while I have never used it. I have heard it works very well.

My personal favorite is Trend-Micro PCCillin Internet Security. It works awesome and updates automatically. It is basically an install and forget program. It uses very little system resources, and is very easily customizable for what you need.

Some other popular antivirus programs are Norton (which I personally won't use because of one bad experience) and McAffe.

And I say McAfee over Norton....basically they all work the same as long as you keep them updated. So it really does not matter.

Norton ANitvirus is thorough but expensive, the new zone alarm security suite is great, but Trend-Micro PCCillin Internet Security is the best.

I think Norton sucks the big one one.

I have two anti-virus programs on my PC. One I bought a license for, called NOD32. I find it works awesome.

The other is AVG Free, which is just to give back up to NOD.
