I havent heard any updates for months now i was just wondering if anyone did. My work is pushing me ot have a work comp so i can work from home a bit but at the same time i would like it to be a gaming pc . But as i missed out on a 7 series by a month when i bought this set up in may 2005 i really want the next one to be up to date.

The nVidia 9 series has been said to be released in the 2nd half of '08. No real information has been given as it is to far to definatively say how/what the performace of the card will be.

nicklord1;4040758...i really want the next one to be up to date.
Know what you mean there, the X800XT I bought 3 yrs ago quickly waned in the way of support. This time around I want to go 9800GTX.
The nVidia 9 series has been said to be released in the 2nd half of '08.

Sounds much more accurate than this fall/winter like some were saying. Curious though, where did you read this?

they just releashed the 8800 GT, damn they should wait a year. People just bought a brand new card and when they have it, a new and better one is already out ! come on!

I think people, myself included, are looking forward to the next 8800 GTX class card, like the 9800 GX2 that referred to, something kickass powerful.

It was a rumor I heard from one of my geeky friends. But since its almost December nVidia needs to get there stuff together if they are going to release it this year.

Ultimately the 8800GT is only an addition to the 8800 range. While they're excellent cards at a decent price, they're not actually a step forward like an entire new series usually signifies. The 8 series came out in 2006, so even if the 9-series does come out soon you can hardly say "OMFG it just came out and they've replaced it after 2 months WTF?!?!" because they havn't.
