Hey, I have an AOpen CD/RW CDW4048 drive which has suddenly decided to stop reading any type of disk I put in the drive and isn't burning disks at all. I have had the drive for a while and have recently installed a Lite-On DVD/RW LDW-811S drive which supports plus and minus, which is in perfect working order. Is there a confliction between them?

I am grateful for any help, sorry if I don't reply soon as I will be away for a few days, cheers in advance! :D

Hello, sorry I couldn't reply sooner.

Looks like my DVD Writer is set as the master, how do I switch between?

Im not 100% sure about this, but I belive newer ROMs work on "cable selection", which means whatever drive is connected at the END of the IDE cable is the master.

Does windows recognize your AOpen drive in device manager? Right click on my computer ---> Manage ---> Device Manager.

Also, what OS do you run?
