I think it all comes down to this. GET BOTH. Macs are excellent for media such as movie editing and photoshop and things to that nature. Pcs are good for everthing else. But a browser doesn't make an OS.

I'm just going to say flat out that Windows has the best browsers. Why? Two reasons: Firefox Opera Thats why.

FRO'rly eh. Windows?? Apple?? Well lets see umm no. If anything Linux has the best. Wait LINUX made THE BEST.

Konqueror the fastest browser out there today. Faster than IE, Firefox, and Safari. It has the same stuff firefox has, extensions etc. It has Kget which is a download manager that allows you to pause and download again where you left off if you get kicked offline. it uses KHTML to render.

Firefox was a slim down version of Mozilla. It was first made on Linux THEN ported over to Windows. So Windows users don't you dare take credit for anything Mozilla or Firefox related. You guys are USING a Linux web browser.

Opera is also for Linux. Its a ok browser but meh theres better. Its just a browser with a fancy GUI.

Lets do some history on Safari. Safari USES KONQEUROR KHTML to RENDER. Safari is Konqueror pretty much with a different look and style. Konqeuror is now faster than Safari because Safari is using a older KHTML to render.

Amazing that all the good browser came from the Linux world... Kinda got to tell you something.

Some good points and bad points about Safari.

Good points: Fast and accurate page loading, easy pop-up blocking, well-organized bookmarking, streamlined tabbed browsing, innovative SnapBack feature.

Bad points: inconsistent page reload and cache refresh, inconsistent compatibility with some sites that use forms;,some sites don't recognize Safari unfortunatley so you'll have to go and download another browser like Firefox,Camino or Shiira to acess the site.

Safari's overall score: 9.7/10

every browser isn't perfect they all have their own flaws.

Not really the browsers fault, more like the lazy web page designers couldnt be bothered making their site compatible with anything more then IE *vomits at the meremention of that browser*.

Isn't this technically plagarism, since you didn't link your source and listed it as if it were your own review? http://www.macworld.com/2003/11/reviews/safari1

Fast and accurate page loading

Aren't all mainstream browsers accurate? If they weren't, nobody would use them.

easy pop-up blocking

Again, most browsers have this anymore.

well-organized bookmarking

Again, nothing new, in fact, I think Firefox does it better.

streamlined tabbed browsing

See above comments.

innovative SnapBack feature

What's so "innovative" about a glorified back button? See that little dropdown menu by the back button on most browsers? It does all the SnapBack button does and more.

inconsistent page reload and cache refresh, inconsistent compatibility with some sites that use forms;,some sites don't recognize Safari unfortunatley so you'll have to go and download another browser like Firefox,Camino or Shiira to acess the site.

Unless all of these "bads" have been fixed since that review was written in 2003, they would be more than enough to make the browser not worth using. How does this list of bad points still warrent a 9.7/10 in any kind of an unbiased review?
