I saw a x700 on ebay for £100 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SAPPHIRE-ATI-RADEON-X700-256MB-AGP4X-8X-VIDEO-CARD_W0QQitemZ8709979939QQcategoryZ67864QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It dosent look to bad, what kinda performance can you get, say on bf2, 3dmark etc? Are they better than 6600gt's or 6600 vanila? Thanks

I scored 13,900 points with my X700PE on 3DMark2001, and my FPS rates normally stay around the 120 mark, depending on graphics settings.

They're quite good cards, but you can get them for cheaper than £100. My X700 cost £80 from eBuyer, although the last time I checked they had discontinued stocking them.

Are xl's better or worse than vanilas? What about these x800gt's?, i hadnt seen them around much, i know there not as good as vanilas tho.

Also 9800xt's are mega cheap now! Whats best x700xl, x800gt or 9800xt?

x800gt then x700xl and 9800xt. The 9800's had trouble with cooling, look at the recent threads.

The x800gt is in between the 700xt pe and the x800pro. About as fast as a 6600gt.

XL's ae better than vanillas. They are above the pro and below the XT. They have a great price to performace ratio.

I have an x700 pro and it is wonderful i can run battlefield 2 on medium with no lag. Assuming you have a decent processor and a gig of ram you should be fine.

Not really. I had a PCIe X700 Pro (actually manufactured by ATI, not sapphire or any of those) for awhile, and it was only about 55C under load with the crappy stock heatsink. This may seem hot to some people... not sure what is normal for ATI cards, but my 6800GT idles at about 65C, and had hit 80C under load without being overclocked at all (before I changed the heastink). They get hot, but not unreasonably. Just make sure you have good airflow and you'll be cool (ehh... no pun intended?).
