What do you guys think of Asus?
They appear to be a Taiwanese manufacturer.
They have some laptops that have dual nvidia cards (although the things I've heard about nvidia mobile chipsets lately I'm wondering if I should get an ATI when I get my laptop....=p), so they seem to be catering to the high end market.
So what do you think; Asus vs Alienware vs HP?
Thanks

Alienware. They supply some decent quality kit.

Do you have to pay $2k+ to get a decent gaming rig from them? The Really high end stuff from Asus was like $3k.
I saw a couple of laptops on the Alienware website for $1299 and $1799 for the 17" .
Also, if you don't mind, could elaborate a little more on why you would choose Alienware over HP or Asus?
Thanks
Personally I don't go for them, although they do supply some high end stuff but its not cheap. I went for a Zoostorm from E-Buyer costing only around £600 which is $1200 in US currency. The system I bought can run DX10 on Crysis on all High settings getting a decent frame rate of 30.

Looks like they only sell to you UK/Europe.:uhm:
I have had Asus laptops and motherboards and they have been nothing but excellent.
IMHO Alienware are overpriced, but Alienware and HP will largely use similar specs and components anyway.

God forbid you ever need software/drivers from their website though. Their support site is abysmally unreliable in my experience, it's the main reason I use abit motherboards rather than ASUS ones (since the products are generally comparable on just about everything else).
That said I have just ordered an ASUS board as the equivalent abit one which I want doesn't seem to be available here.
