Hey all.Ive been thinking about my choices of computers and my 2 options at the moment are:

Newegg.com - Recertified: ASUS G60VX-RBBX05 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P7450(2.13GHz) 16" 4GB Memory DDR2 800 320GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M

(Which a kind member of this forum suggested to me)

or

Alienware M11x Review

I'm only using this laptop for gaming and school work.

All i would like to get from it is to be able to play WOW with at least 30 FPS no matter where i am on low settings. I am not super computer savy at all so my wants from a computer are pretty basic BUT i do want one that will last.

Id appreciate all suggestions.

Ahh and the only customization change id make to the Alienware is that it would be to make it a 4GB.

Thanks again.

Definitely go for the G60VX, unless you really need the extreme portability of the M11x.

To me, it's pretty much a no-brainer, but I carry two G60's worth of textbooks to and from class every day, so the extra weight isn't really an issue. The M11x is certainly a respectable little computer, especially for its size, but you get much more for your money out of the G60VX.

Ok. So alienware is completley out of the question. one last quick question about this.

How does the: HP Pavilion dv7-3160us Entertainment Notebook PC, Espresso Black | HP® Official Store

compare to the ASUS. I'm going to attempt to buy one of these 2 today.

Excellent choice, and good idea getting the cooling fan.

One thing you'll definitely want to pick up is a good mouse, as you'll find that touchpads are really annoying when it comes to gaming. I recommend the Razer DeathAdder; it's a tried & true classic gamer's mouse, available in left and right handed versions, and has a 3,500 DPI optical sensor and 5 programmable buttons. Definitely a top-notch piece of hardware.
