I never heard of a card having 512 Onboard memory either. but i saw on G4-TV that Nvidia is working ob building a new graphics card with 512 on board memory.

and why is the X800 so expensive is it the best card ATI is offering or something?

metal_militiahate to tell you but 3DFX went bankrupt a few years ago now. Most of their intellectual propertly and employees where brough/hired by nvidia.

I think he meant 3Dlabs, an arm of Creative and maker of the Wildcat (the closest thing the industry has to a mainstream workstation card).

Ah yeah thats it - the Wildcat. 3dLabs, 3DFX... can't blame me.

Anyway the last time I checked, one of the Wildcat cards was £699 on Aria.

You'd be find with a X800  Who wouldn't.

I'd be fine with a Geforce 6600 or a Radeon 9800Pro.
