Ok ive got $2000 to spend and i was wondering whats the best pc i could build for the money.
Depends what type of PC you are looking to get. A gaming PC or One for multi tasking. Do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard etc or $2000 just on the system. Be a bit more specific then we will help you
well i think jakk is right wath do you need? you need a monitor mouse keyboard? or you already have that...
anyway if you need too buy all i think u can build some pretty nice computer..really
think of something like a amd 3500+ cpu on 939 mobo with an 6800GT and 1gb of ram ...it really depends...if you want all kinda things like cardreader or special sound card and firewire...then you have to buy something like above but if you think smart en dont buy those ''useless things for gaming'' i think u can spend more on a even better Videocard or something
If I had to build a system on the cheap, here is how I would go...
Case/Mobo Shuttle XPC SN26 Barebone system http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856101479 $559.00

Total: $1,635.74 +tax+shipping.
As I said, this is what I would do. There's also enough money left over to SLI the video cards and add another XFX GeForce 6800GT, equalling two 128MB 6800GTs.
Good luck purchasing a system.
*Note: If you like, you can buy me these parts and I can send you my system. haha.
You have 2 grand, you can get alot: SLI motherboard from DFI Dual core +4400 Water cooling for CPU and video cards 2gb of ram(helps alot in games like BF2) Raid 0 raptors Dual 7800gtx's Nice case 650 watt PSU All the DVD/Cd drives Creative's new sound card.
That bare bones is way overpriced for what you got.

I agree with almost everything Pethe said. I would not get water cooling. The risks are too great unless you have an experienced person install it. Even so, it would be difficult to find someone willing to do that because they are liable for any damage done to your system.
I do not know how much power an SLI rig eats up, so I'm not sure if 650w is overkill for a power supply.
Well I know a 7800gtx eats a little less than a 6800gt which is around 60 watts. 2 of them comes to about 120watts for video card
600watt, every high efficeny(%80)
If you don't want water cooling, just buy a Thermalright Xp-120 and get a high CFM(over 100) 120mm fan.
its gonna be for gaming so good sound and good graphics are a must
