Yeah, I'm looking to buy yet another new video card, and I'm wondering what the best one is that still uses AGP? Spare no expense.

Which cards have received better reviews and won in benchmarks lately, the newest NVIDIA, or the ATI cards?

Thanks for the link btw.

It would be one of these two below. I believe the newer ATI card is the best AGP card out by enough of a margin that it'd be my choice of the two. No benchmark links, but from the core/memory speeds alone you can tell it's a faster card. Double the ram doesn't hurt either.

SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X HDCP Video Card $250

Albatron GeForce 7800GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card $246 (I'd look for a better brand like Evga, this is an example)

The best nVidia on AGP is the 7800GS, the best ATi is the X1950 Pro. I believe the X1950 is the more powerful card.

Yes, the X1950 Pro is indeed a bit faster than a 7800GS.

Yeah I agree, get the X1950 pro its almost twice as powerful as the 7800. Plus you'll be able to do both anti anlasing and HDR lighting at the same time while the 7800 gs is not cappable.

Bollocks is it that powerful. It's a bit better, and it's the same price, so it's the best choice out of the two; but you can't just pluck random numbers out of your head...

I remeber that when the X1900XT's came out they were twice as fast as the 7800 GT's in many benchmarks. I thought that becuase of the "X1950" name it would be as good or better then an x1900.
