That's right. I can hardly visit any website or do a basic Google search now without receiving some kind of insane error. It started happening a couple months ago, and I finally give up and reformatted. It was fine after that...until today. Now it's doing the same crap all over again, and I'm at my wit's end. I'll be lucky if this post even appears. I've attached a couple screenshots as examples. Also, here's a Hijackthis log:

Other than this stuff however, my computer appears to be functioning normally. It's only my connection that's messed up AFAIK.

I don't see anything there that immediately says "virus" to me.

Could you post exactly what sort of error your getting, the more detail the better. "Some kind of insane error" needs narrowing down a little. =p

Also, have you installed any programs since the problem started?

A few suggestions you may want to try;

1) be sure to update to the latest version of Firefox. Not all of them are entirely stable and updates are released quite frequently (incremental builds, not full blown version releases)

2) empty that cache.. purge it.. destroy it, make sure everything is removed.

3) try using a different browser, such as IE and see if the problem persists, if it doesn't it's most likely your browser and a simple reinstall will do the trick, if not, it's on your OS and you've either got persistant spyware or a virus.

To be safe you should run a virus and Spybot Search and Destroy scan

If you did have a virus, Avast would most likely have caught it. The google error doesn't look that bad, I see those sometimes too, it's only worry-some if they appear every time. As for the other thing, no idea, you should probably go with n0e's ideas for that one.
