I'd like to know how, I have ad-block plus installed but it doesn't work. This vibrant thing marks words in green and if you accidentally hover over them, you get some pop-up, dreadful.

I couldn't find anything on google really, except this: Is there a way to block vibrant pop-up ads? - Yahoo! Answers

I laughed my ass off. :lulz:

The advertising war. Making sure you see it, vs making sure you don't.

I don't know of any way. Keep in mind, those green words are likely keeping this site operational, and likely paying your salary.

I use Firefox with ABP and NoScript, and I don't see them. Try NoScript if you don't have it.

I keep Adblock plus off on this site. I don't mind the normal "Win Green Card noaw!" crap, but this just completely sucks.

Ah...well, that may have something to do with it. =p

Also, protip for Monster_user: we aren't salaried employees. ;)

I was wondering the same thing, Skanker...

Okay, so "FF/ Network Staff" is used for the volunteer maintainers of the Files Network sites?

I have forgotten the different levels, and different staff positions. I am aware that a large portion of the front-end operations are handled by volunteers. The Moderators, and the members who rate, and aprove submissions to Files Network sites. Didn't Jeff earn money off of this site at one point, and I do recall he hired several individuals for the behind the scenes operations, other than the server maintenance.

I know Jeff does this for a living...there are some others who get legit paid for FileFront work, but the list is pretty small, and I don't think most of them are even on the forums.

If I turn it on, it doesn't block the vibrant ads. I tested it duh. :p I'll just keep it off then on FF, but I still want to know how to block these on other sites.

Skanker;5412567So why exactly did you laugh your ass off?

Have you read the response? Some dude suggest to install and antivirus, safe mode, format,... Just basically anything except for a pop-up blocker or so. :p

FF/Network Staff, and generally any rank with "Network" in the rank title is a volunteer for the network.

Jeff is the sole staff member on the forum or network that gets paid. He's not a volunteer, he's a contracted employee of filefront. He doesn't get money from ads, he gets a paycheck. (thought it can be argued that the money from the ads does pay his wages...)

While he is the highest form of authority on the network & forums he doesn't own filefront. He's just the poor chap with the job of keeping the communities running and representing us to Filefront, now the gaming division of Break Media.

You may occasionally see Demonseed or ZeroZombie around the place, they get paid as well. Other than that, you might see comments from Mark Burnham on Filefront.com, he's the manager of Break media's gaming division. (ie, filefront)

Moving back to the original question, I beleive I blocked the text ads through blocking intellitext.com with noscript. :lookaround:
