I think I'll end up getting the GTX 285 2GB. Because one, it's sure to run WoW at its full potential (I see people saying it uses the whole 4870x2 and some saying it only uses half). And two, the 285 I want to get is made by EVGA, so I know it's made well.

better buy a 30" LCD monitor if you're getting a 2gb card. Because theres no way in hell anything else will use that much vram.

Actually, yes. I'm thinking about getting a 27.5" monitor. I may change my mind , though, I'm not sure I want to put another stand in my room. It's somewhat crowded already :uhm:

There's quite a big gap at 1920x1200 as well, especially with AA turned on. But you're right, 2560x1600 is where the card will really shine.

Err, sorry for hijacking your thread TheClairvoyant, but I also have a question about the GTX285. I have 2 of the PhysX 1GB with SLi using a 20" LCD monitor, is this a 'bad' combination? Or is it simply the best to have a 30" monitor to max out its performance?

I'd definitely get the 30" monitor.

Unless you have $1000 to spare on a 30-inch, I suggest you keep what you have and content yourself with being able to play every single game at mostly maxed out settings on your monitor.

Holy crap, in that case get a 32" LCD TV, it'll do the job just the same for a fraction of the price of that monitor Kow posted.

No it wont, because a 32" LCD tv cant get anywhere near the same resolution that a 30" monitor can. 1080p doesn't have anything on 2500x1600
