Hi guys, I'm wanting to buy a new pc. I've found this one for 850 euro's, without monitor. All things are ok, good graffics card and large harddrive, 2 gig's RAM etc... The only thing is, some of my friends say Pentium D processors aren't good, what do you think of this processor: Intel Pentium D 930 Dualcore 2x 3,0 Ghz Please tell me if this is good, or should i put in a 3 Ghz pentium 4? - MoMMa

your friend needs a swift kick in the nuts :) pentium d processors are nothing to laugh at. especially since both cores are at 3.0ghz.

Good choice m8, a dual core pentium with a 7600gt will be a very nice system. And very quick too!!

yeah, a 7600gt would be good... and i would get the £80 pentium D ( it has overclocked to 7ghz and is easy to get to at least 3.6ghz) and with the extra cash you are saving get a 7800GT or ati's x1800xt for £170?

Personally I'm not a fan of Intel for CPUs. Depending on your budget you should look at an AMD Athlon 64 X2 if you want dual core. Not sure on prices though.

But for the price of the Pentium D 805 its much better to save the extra £150 on an AMD and this CPU can overclock to be MUCH better than a AMD x2... as i have said: on stock cooling they get to at least 3.4ghz if not 4ghz.
