They claimed that they've ported a number of apps like apache to their architecture - so no they ain't x86.

I'm not sure whether having lots of weak cores is going to be any use. Surely if a CPU with lots of weak cores has the same processing power as a CPU with a few stronger cores, then you'd go for the fewer, stronger cores, because of multithreading and parallelism issues?
