more just to settle a bet but also generally curious. discounting the dx11 stuff, is call of duty 2 more graphically demanding than call of pripyat when running dx10/10.1??
There isn't even any DX10 COD game.
Proly not :lulz:
I remember, back in the day a friend of mine was a COD enthusiast and he ran COD 2 on a dual pentium 4 @ 2.0 ghz and a single 7200!
Didn't run half bad either.
No way is CoD 2 as demanding as ANY STALKER title, and as mentioned, it doesn't even make use of DX10. I've run it on a P4 3GHz single core and X800XT just fine, even with a fairly heavy mod that adds blood & gore effects, enhanced AI, and extra Panzerfaust troops (LOTS of rockets going off) with max settings no problem. I couldn't begin to do that with any of the STALKER titles.
WTF is Call of Pripyat, lol? :lulz:
It's the latest game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
Considering CoP came out just 4 months ago while CoD2 came out 5 years ago before DX10 even existed, I think the answer should be fairly obvious.
Ah crap! I meant Modern Warfare 2. I just call it call of duty 2 cause i haven't really taken notice of any call of duty games before the warfare series. I was wondering why you were all so surprised till I realised what a dumb mistake that was. No i meant modern warfare 2 :P
In that case, Call of Pripyat will still be more graphically demanding. Modern Warfare 2 is based on a heavily modified id Tech 3 engine, and runs well even on shitty hardware. And it still doesn't use DX10.
Modern Warfare 1 set the bar pretty high for well optimized games. MW 2 isn't as well optimized IMO, but still much more so than any STALKER title.
STALKER is not very well optimized. Metro 2033 runs better for me on all high settings @ 1920x1080 than STALKER Clear Sky does, and looks a hell of a lot better doing it.
