so yeah, today I went out and bought sins of a solar empire. and I installed it and all that jazz, but then when I tried to play it, the screen went black for a sec, then the blackness minimized into a small window and didnt do anything after that. so I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. then I tried restarting my computer. nothing worked. i checked the requirements before I bought the game, and my machine fits the minimum. when I close it, I get this error message Saved Minidump: C:\DOCUME~1\Jake\LOCALS~1\Temp\Sins Dump\Sins-1.00-2008-02-22-16-24-52-6320-6316.dmp any ideas on how to fix this?

I might be able to help if you post the minidump. Go to it, open it in notepad and paste it here.

Post in the offical Sins of a Solar Empire forums to recieve an answer. But you will need to download the 1.2 patch from Stardock Central.

It's never done that for me before, neither did the Beta(s), chance's are its either a driver support issue, or it was obtaining your recommended graphics settings and it froze/crashed. Just try running the game again, and again, and again, until it works, The screen goes black for me for a few seconds during the standard boot up period, then it resumes to the prior movies, eventually the menu.

I think it may be a problem with the sound drivers actually. The computer im running on is pretty old, so im going to look into that next time i go on that computer. and ill be sure to post the minidump thing too.
