Hello everyone.I have ATI Radeon HD5750 graphics card, and I want to know what are ATI Catalyst and Catalyst AI,and what are they for. So if anyone knows (and i'm sure someone does) please tell me.
The "ATI Catalyst" (Which I imagine will be updated to AMD Catalyst sometime soon) are the drivers for you card. You REQUIRE these and it's best to keep them up to date. AMD/ATI usually do updates on them once a month (or they try too)
"Catalyst A.I." is how the above drivers tweak and change themselves for different games, it can be done automatically or you can manually change settings. What it is trying to do is give you the best performance in your game.
Ok.Well that's all i wanted to know.Thank you for your reply :)
Oh,i forgot.What is HydraVision?
HydraVision is for managing multiple monitors, it's not required unless you use more than one monitor
Ok,i guess i don't need that. Now,sorry if i'm being boring but ATI has so much "stuff" i'm not familiar with so i just want to know what are they for. -What is CrossfireX? -I guess my graphics card supports DirectX 11.I want to install it but first i want to know is it worth it.Will it ruin compability with older games i have installed? What are good things and what are bad things about it?
Crossfire is using multiple GPU's (Normally two cards, save for the 5970) to increase the graphics power you have.
You card is a DX11 card. You must have Windows7 in order to use it (it's already installed by default) and it will not cause problems with older games (they will continue to use DX9/10/10.1)
