try defragmenting your hard drive so that it does not have to keep searching for fragments of the file that is supposed to be burned, this can ensure a higher and more consistant data throughput rate for more reliable burns.

Figure out which song(s) it tries to burn when it quits out. Sometimes I get failed burns due to corrupt files.

It has to be hardware related since your computer doesn't behave odd otherwise. Opening a box and carefully checking if every cable is correctly plugged won't hurt and is free. Once helped a unplug/plug even though everything looked just right. Has your burning speed dropped latly, did you mess around with your UDMA settings?
