I'm having some serious issues with my CD drive. It always worked the way I wanted it to, up till some time this week. Suddenly, it stopped autoplaying, and iTunes won't recognize when I put an audio CD in there. Also, when I open My Computer, it always shows the CD drive as empty, even though I can still play games when there's a disk in it.

I have no idea what's going on, and I want this fixed. Any help?

Do you have any games with StarFORCE ???

StarFORCE's infection.....i mean "protection" system has been known to kill drives.

If there is no image, Mikey broke something...

I do not have any such games, and I've read the list.

It might just be dying, CD/DVD drives do funny things before they go kaput.

Mine does this all the time. This is what works for mine, but I hope it works for yours too. 1. Push in the IDE and/or replace it. 2. Make sure there is NO disc in the drive when you start the computer. I just started having these problems lately, but I know my 5-6 years old.
