Apparently, when I checked my NFS: Most Wanted CD, it had tiny little cracks on the edges of the center hole. I counted around ten of them and I'm afraid they may get worse. It could eventually break apart while playing. The CD still works fine on my ps2 though. Should I get a new one?

It would be safer ^^ Anyway you may try making a backup copy of that one before it breaks.

It is possible, but not easy. You do have a right to one legal backup copy.

However, it is illegal in the United States to backup a PS2 disc, due to the measures often required. AS a result, it is also against the forum rules to discuss it.

Infact i believe it's illegal to backup any game discs since that would count as copying.

The cracks could be caused by the console. My 360 does the same thing, and nothing seems to be damaging either the console nor the data. Best get a new CD though.

All this legal issues is really making it worse. I'll just try to find a new copy tommorow. If i'm lucky, I might be able to find another NFS MW disk. Thanks for all the input though, appreciate it.

You have a right to make yourself one legal copy for personal use as long as you don't need to edit the orginal content in any way I believe.

And jetfreak, what about trying to place one of those round cd stickers on the disk. Might help.

You have the right. Problem is that it's usually not possible to do it without breaking the law in some other way.
