So yesterday i reinstalled WINXP PRO and all the things i needed. Such as SP1 and 2.

The error which was the reason i needed to format was caused by CHDSK. Today i started my computer and guess what. CHDSK ran AGAIN and made a file invalid and now i cant start it again. So i want to know. IS there anyway to turn OFF CHDSK so it doesent fuck my comp up again. Thanks for any help. Dr. SharK

CHKDSK doesn't make invalid files, it detects them. If it keeps reporting corrupted files, there could be a problem with your HDD.

Well, it's either a problem with your Windows disc, or more likely your HD. I'd recomend upgrading the HD anyway because it's not too big.

Dr. SharKall the things i needed. Such as SP1 and 2.

you didn't need SP2. nobody really does. it only makes things more useless and vulnerable

but yeh, i've had some troubles like that before. swapped the HDD, reinstalled and it was fine. there's a WD 320gb HDD on newegg for $120. they claim it to be a "one day sale" but you know newegg, they lie. it's on sale like that for weeks

The only "big" things on my comp, is all the Steam games, BF2 with EXP and TMS ... so its not that big a deal... Ram is more important to me.... imo

Anyway, im ALWAYS gonna stick with my computer. I aint never getting mac or anything like that... i stick with what i know....

Except for the fact that when you mac you can't play games.........which sucks........otherwise its WAY safer (In terms of stability etc). Anyways shark i too was having the same problem so I decided to throw my 40Gb. out and replace it with a new 160gb HD and it works fine haven't had a problem since. (Just remeber to back up your data.........)
