Hey All, I recently popped a movie into Media player and it came back with an error. The movie plays fine, however there is no sound to go with it when there should be. - Upon entering web help on the error message it says I need codec 2000. What is this and where can I get it?

The AC3 filter should make it work.

Cheers, works a treat, though you have to turn up the sound quite a bit. However it works, thats the main thing :) Also, DivX I already have, I needed that to get the Video working a an earlier movie. :)

Do a google search for ACE Mega CoDecS Pack. Fixed all my video and sound problems and I have never had to go searching for a codec again, it has everything.

Yeah. There are a lot of checkboxes in the installation though, just make sure to read what they say before checking yes or no. Some of them want to install new media players on your system and/or change your default players for certain files.

The codecs don't depend on any specific player - they are stored somewhere in the registry I think, meaning any player can use them to play stuff if it knows where to look.
