Ok so I'm still using windows xp (yeah I know, xp is out, vista is in) well anyway, I have this one game (earthsiege 2 btw) and when I run it in compatiblility mode for win 98 or 95, the game is extreamly laggy. Any other compatiblility mode it runs fine, with just one problem, the game doesn't register my joystick (which it does in 95 and 98 modes) Now, I'm wondering, is there any way to either A: have the game register my 2 axis 2 button joystick in any of the compatibility modes which work, or B: Have my game be less laggy in the compatibility modes. So, can anyone help me?

It would help with

1) Whats your system specs??

2) What version of XP are you trying to run it with

3) Are we talking about a old game where any PC nowadays should run it fine?

4) What are the requirements for this game ? ---> Would it run fine in a Virtual PC ? (MS's virtual PC is free, but virtual graphics card has only 4 MB ram and no hardware acceleration ... or 8 MB with maybe hardware acceleration if you install the supplements for virtual machines, but it seems to get buggy then ^^).

I didn't make it!

Sometimes old games don't work on new computers, that's why I can't play starcraft anymore

StarCraft ought to work in compatibility mode.

Starcraft works just fine for me without using compatibility mode.
