Something about my computer sucks. I have a Radeon 7500 video card nicknamed Jackass and it just doesn't seem to cut it. I was playing Rise of Nations for the humor of steamrolling people online with those militia guys, and it froze. The games friggin two dimensional. Same problem doing the same thing with Generals Zero Hour and same thing happened on my comp to a friend goofing off in a like manner in Age of Mythology. This kinda sucks. I come home from football, expecting to get a good laugh, and the damn computer freezes. Find it in your hearts to tell me whats wrong. We have: The Jackass 3000+ (2.16 ghz) AMD ATHLON XP procassor 512 MB DDR memory All this on a HP Pavilion a420n.

What is the full name of your Radeon card? It should be something like "ATI Radeon 7500 XP Pro Extreme 128mb" or similar. That will help determine if your card is the problem. Did you install your Graphics Card yourself? If you did you could have accidentally shorted it through static electricity. That might explain why the problem spreads across multiple games on your system.

Good Luck.

PS. Nice name.

you running xp home or pro? (joke) could it be a driver error ? try a reinstall but remove the old drivers first, i prefer to do it that way as there is no chance of any conflict with the old drivers

Thinking about it.

zero hour for cnc lags my computer with my: 6800 ultra p4 3.4 ghz ee 2 gig ram

it shouldnt lag for rise of nations though so there are three things you can try

1. Reformate its easy but it deletes everything on your computer (I used to do this once a week) 2. Check your drivers and if you ever upgraded you might want to try: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3214.html to make sure your old drivers are gone 3. Check your DirectX
