Like everyone else noticed: more RAM (Low Latency, if you can afford it) The biggest performance gain I've ever seen was from upgrading to a 10,000 rpm system drive (Maxtor 74 GB). Seek times are cut almost in half, which translates into loading stuff twice as fast as before. You can get a 160 or 250 GB disk for cheap to add as a data disk, and break it up into as many logical drives as you want. For example, all my system and application stuff is on the 10K disk with 1 logical drive, C:\. The 160 GB 7400 rpm disk is split up into various logical drives, m:\ (Music/MP3s), I:\ (Images), etc. The system smokes now. I'm always the first person to load a new map and join the game...
