I unintalled Steam and all of my games with it, in attemp to reformat. I did, loaed all drivers etc, and got steam back and loaded all my games back on. But now, whenever i open Counter-Strike, my computer shuts down, and restarts. Then it bitches taht it's recovered from a serious error. Any ideas?

Specs: Athlon 64 3000+ 1gb 400 mhz RAM Twin 80 gigs G-Force 6600 Dual VGA Over Clocked.

Any ideas? Is it spyware? Virus?

Hmm. I had a similar problem not so long ago, only it happened in Windows as well with me.

I'd say it's either damaged/faulty RAM, or those overclocked cards - Do you have adequate cooling? How far were they overclocked? Overclocking GPUs can be a messy affair, even more so when it goes wrong.

I have removed my new overclocking RAM. No effect, it says it was caused by a Device Driver Error of some sort, any more ideas?

Sounds like Windows is having problems with one of your drivers, Try downloading and Installing the latest drivers for your Video card and sound card (i would try those first) since it you say it crashes trying to load games, Uninstall your old drivers your old drivers before you install the new ones so theres no chance of any conflicts between driver versions. and see if that helps at all.

Any also try running with your 6600 set at stock speeds and see if that makes any difference.

Hmm, I had that problem (minus the reformat) with Battlefield 2, and I ended up replacing my video card. It works fine now.

I would try putting your old video card in, then see what happens.
