Supposedly you can make Halo 2 work on XP, I think a third party is developing compatibility software or something.
Word is DX10 may be ported to run on XP. As for Vista and Halo, Halo 3 for PC is Vista only. More confounded MS exclusivity!

The only way we're gonna to see DX10 on XP is if the Windows community ports it. Microsoft is almost certianly not going to officially support DX10 for XP.

DX10 games have already been made to run on XP, though obviously not by that exclusivity giant I just mentioned. Here's a recent article by arstechnica.com speaking of how DX10 has already been hacked in by Razor 1911 for Microsoft titles despite MS saying it's not possible: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070626-vista-only-game-cracked-to-run-on-xp.html It appears the only thing that will actually keep people like Razor 1911 from running DX10 games on XP is if MS somehow makes XP incapable of such modification. Sure it won't likely be done by MS, especially with this latest news. They're making it rather obvious they want everyone to use Vista for next gen PC graphics, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
