If you mean the GUI in Win XP, theres several things you can do.

First, is get a program called StyleXP, wich allows you to change the GUI skins using the windows skin engine thingy, but it always has to be running for it to work correctly.

The seccond is to get the UXTheme.dll patch. This patches UXTheme.dll and then lets you install new skins under windows skinning engine and requires no extra processes whatsoever. This is fairly risky though if your a novice.

The third is a program such as WindowBlinds or the suchlike, wich covers over the top, but thats even more sluggish then StyleXP and just untidy for me.

I use UXTheme.dll patch. Linkys: - StyleXP - UXTheme.dll Patch - Windowblinds

I like Trekker, reccomend the UXtheme patcher.

Much more freedom, minus having to run a separate program.

I tried that and I couldn't find any good themes, or any good websites with themes. I also thought it made my system a little unstable, but maybe that was all just in my mind. I also couldn't get used to it... in the end, I just ended up unpatching everything and going back to the original XP theme.
