Ship it to me by accident please? :p
That's one fine laptop your getting! Have fun with it.
The price doesn't seem too bad for those specs either.

Oh I will! =p
That price is also not including any haggling I'll be doing with the Sales Rep. I'm hoping to get it for 1,900-2,000. (works out at 1,400-1500 euro, dirt-cheap for those specs.)
Dell sales reps do what they can, but it's usually not much. If any of my previous experiences still hold true, you might get free expedited shipping, maybe a mouse or something, but probably not much more than that.
If I were you, I would get a cheaper processor option and get the GTX 280M instead of the 260. You can always buy a processor later and install it, including the Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9300. You can replace the graphics, too, courtesy of the MXM interface, but that will be much more expensive.
But even as is, it beats the shit out of my gaming desktop. Congratulations, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)
I would, but unfortunately there's no single 280 option.
I got one of the Irish reps to price one for me. He gave me free shipping and 150 euro off, and that was without any haggling at all.
I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm just waiting on my credit card to get here. Should be here by the middle of next week.
Crap, that's right, it's either dual GTX 260M's in SLI, or dual GTX 280M's. I think a single 280M would have been a fantastic middle-ground option for those who want high performance, but with a single card.

Then again the 260M and 280M LT GPUs haven't even been out for very long. I think this is all a bit anxious when you consider there will no doubt soon be lots of LTs with either of these chips at better pricing and service.
I think ASUS has some GTX 260M/280M models, and I know Sager does.
I'm holding out for the GTX 285M, then I plan to sell my Studio 15 laptop, and custom desktop, and buy such a laptop. I'm rarely home to use my desktop these days, and it's showing its age.

Yeah, I know Excalibur has the ASUS with GTX 260M, Q9200 CPU and Blu-ray drive for about $2000, but I've yet to see a single 280M LT.
I know some have to gear up for school on a time line, but this appears to be a gaming inspired urge that might just benefit from a bit of waiting. ;)
